It’s almost 9/12. So in the spirit of support, faith, and forward thinking, here’s to rising up. I hope this back to soul series has you thinking longer than the lyrics. Are you living the life you imagined? Are you saying the things that need to be said? Are you loving freely and without judgement?

I like to think that for as dark as 9/11 was, the light and love of 9/12 became remarkably inspiring. I am thankful for solidarity, purpose, kindness, and compassion. If you’ve been down, distracted, or doubtful, there’s never been a more perfect time to rise.
