Don’t Waste Your Time

I was recently with a children’s author who also happens to share some writing circles and connections with me. We got to chatting about the industry and all the advice offered and she said to me, “don’t waste your time writing to be seen.” Now while this was absolutely applicable to the writing world, it sort of stands for anything and everything in life. Are we writing, or living, to be seen? If the latter, what a giant waste.

We should be writing, and living, to experience. However, the world has this focus on the visible, which I’d argue is not the visceral call to engage or endeavor. So, here’s to the invisible but invigorating writing I’m currently partaking in. Onward!
