Happy Father’s Day

I struggle with what to gift my husband for Father’s Day every single year. He’s remarkably frugal and a true believer in whatever era best exudes simple elegance. He grasped the whole “experiences over things” philosophy long before it became trendy, and he’s quietly passed that wisdom on to me and our daughters.

Some of us (ahem, me) are less consistent in subscribing to that way of life—but we strive, and we benefit from the calm, grounded presence of someone who lives it daily.

And still, every year, I wrestle with what to give.

So this year, I’m giving words. I’m giving thanks. I’m giving quiet acknowledgment of the way he shows up—not just today, but every day. For the patience, the protection, the playfulness. For the humility. For the lessons woven into the way he lives.

Happy Father’s Day to the man who gives us everything that truly matters.
